Encountering the Dharma

I recommend this book by Richard Hughes Seager to those interested in learning about Buddhism in the United States and Soka Gakkai. Besides telling the story of Soka Gakkai in the United States, Seager gives the reader a glimpse of Japanese culture and tells us how the organization adapts and grows in Brazil. Although Seager is openly sympathetic to Soka Gakkai, he is not a member of Soka Gakkai but a Catholic and speaks from a neutral point of view. He evaluates the organization, praising its achievements and those of its current president, Ikeda. This book a must for members of Soka Gakkai.
